About Me

I know how important it is to feel safe, seen, and met with care.
My goal is to show up with compassion, honesty, and curiosity, and to create a space where you don’t have to pretend to be anything other than exactly who you are.

I aim to create a soft, gentle landing place for you to unpack your emotions, thoughts, wishes, and experiences. Where you can laugh as much as you cry, and where you can feel truly seen.

I invite you to explore your most private thoughts, your painful memories, and your deepest sense of self, all while knowing you are cared for and not judged. I can be serious and compassionate, and I can also be silly and playful. I love to explore metaphor and stories, and I aim to connect emotions and experiences to the body and its intuitive knowing. I also hold a deep commitment to social justice. This means I’m mindful of how systems of oppression shape our inner lives, and I strive to offer care that affirms your full identity and honours your lived experience.

Feel free to contact me if you'd like to learn more about my approach.

I completed a Master's of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Toronto in 2015, and before that, a Bachelor's in Psychology. I have worked across several settings and populations, including university students, children and families, and adults of all ages.

I have since done several trainings to continue to grow in competency. Some of the most relevant of these are:

  • Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Levels 1 and 2; Trauma Themes and Developmental Injury - Focusing on the body; learning to listen to the messages we're receiving, and use the body with intention to feel better.

  • The Frontier of Social Justice: Cross-Cultural Compassion in Clinical Practice - Applying a therapy lens to Anti-Racism and how to better support BIPOC clients.

  • Emotion Focused Therapy - Working with emotional blocks and avoidance of emotions.

I also have experience with the following modalities:

  • CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

  • DBT (Dialectic Behaviour Therapy)

  • Narrative Therapy

  • Relational Therapy

Many of us did not have the benefit of growing up in an environment that taught us we are lovable and good enough just the way we are. Some have encountered racism, homophobia, or other systemic oppression that have taught them they are not accepted or not safe. Others have had painful or traumatic experiences along the way that have led to feelings of anxiety, depression, loneliness, self-criticism...

Through a caring, non-judgemental therapeutic relationship, we can develop compassion for ourselves. We can learn that many of our unhelpful coping strategies (self-criticism, unhealthy relationships, emotion avoidance, substance dependence, etc.) were originally developed to protect or shield us in some way. Through learning to love and care for even our hardest to love parts, we can begin to heal the wounds from our past, and move forward in a way that feels intentional and authentic.
